London Looking East 2005
London Looking East featured the work of Australian artists who had undertaken residencies in the Australia Council London studio. I had been there for the first 3 months of 2002.
I included 2 works in the show. One consisted of 6,376 names copied from the Hobart white pages directory that were projected, one by one, onto the gallery wall in a continuous loop. In front of the projection was a 3 metre wide table on which sat 16 books that recorded every projected name, one name per page. The work aimed to question the complex relationship between names and identity.

The second work featured two small videos, viewed on tiny tv screens. One video featured the movement of people in Paddington Station, and the other, relatives I visited in Latvia prior to taking up the residency in London.
